30-Day Returns – Change of Mind

We understand that sometimes a purchase may not be the right fit. No worries — at Lights and Fans Online, you have 30 days from the Invoice Date to request a change-of-mind return, subject to the conditions below.

Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for our 30-Day Change-of-Mind Returns Policy, the following requirements must be met:

Proof of purchase: A valid Lights and Fans Online invoice or other acceptable proof of purchase must be provided.
30-day period: The return request must be made within 30 days of the Invoice Date.
Product condition: The product(s) must be returned in “as new” and resalable condition, in the original, undamaged packaging, including all instruction manuals, accessories, components and other items supplied with the product.
The product(s) must not have been installed, used, modified, altered or assembled.
Return costs: The customer is responsible for all costs associated with returning the product(s) to Lights and Fans Online. The product(s) must be returned to the original place of purchase.
Original shipping costs: Any refund will be less any shipping or freight costs originally incurred by Lights and Fans Online to deliver the order, including where free shipping was provided.
Return approval: All change-of-mind returns must be approved by Lights and Fans Online before the product(s) are returned.
Return timeframe: Once a return has been authorised, the product(s) must be received by Lights and Fans Online within 10 business days. Returns received after this period will not be eligible unless prior written authorisation has been provided.

Refund Options

For eligible change-of-mind returns, we offer two refund options so you can choose the option that best suits your needs.

Option 1: Store Credit

Receive 100% of the product value as Store Credit.
Store Credit is valid for 3 years from the date of issue.
No restocking fee applies when Store Credit is selected.
Store Credit can be used for future purchases from Lights and Fans Online.

Option 2: Refund to Original Payment Method

Receive your refund via the original payment method used for the purchase.
A 20% restocking fee will be deducted from the value of the returned product(s).
Any applicable original shipping or freight costs will also be deducted from the refund.

Designer Pendant Lights

All Designer Pendant Lights are subject to a 25% restocking fee when returned as an eligible change-of-mind return within the 30-day return period.

The product(s) must still meet all of the eligibility requirements above, including being unused, uninstalled and in “as new” and resalable condition, with the original undamaged packaging, manuals, accessories and components.

Important – Australian Consumer Law

This policy applies to change-of-mind returns only.

Nothing in this policy excludes, restricts or modifies any rights or remedies you may have under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL).

If a product is faulty, unsafe, incorrectly supplied, significantly different from its description, or otherwise does not meet the consumer guarantees under the ACL, you may be entitled to a remedy regardless of the conditions of this change-of-mind policy.

Restocking fees and change-of-mind return conditions do not apply where a remedy is required under the Australian Consumer Law.

Lighting

All general lighting order of more than 10 items is subject to %25 restocking fees

Damaged, Defective or Incorrect Items

Please inspect your order carefully as soon as it is received. If your product arrives damaged, defective, faulty or different from what you ordered, please contact Lights and Fans Online as soon as possible, maximum time frame of 24–48 hours of delivery, so we can assess the issue and work with you to resolve it promptly.

Where possible, please provide photos or videos of the product, packaging and any visible damage, along with your order or invoice number. This will help us assess the issue and arrange the appropriate solution as quickly as possible.

If you receive an incorrect or damaged product, please do not install or use it. Contact us first so we can provide instructions on the next steps.

Important: The 24–48 hour notification period is intended to help us identify and resolve delivery damage or incorrect-item issues promptly. It does not limit or exclude any rights or remedies you may have under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL). If a product is faulty or otherwise fails to meet the consumer guarantees, you may be entitled to a remedy under the ACL.

Exceptions / non-returnable items
Items that have been used and installed are not eligible for return if they are deemed to be operating correctly with no fault found. The cost of the inspection might be passed on to the customer if the items are found to be in good working order

Quality Check

Upon receiving your purchase, please carefully inspect all product(s) for cosmetic appearance, finish, colour, surface marks, scratches, dents or other visible imperfections before installation.

If you identify any cosmetic issue, please contact Lights and Fans Online as soon as possible and within the 30-day change-of-mind return period, where applicable. Please provide photographs of the product and packaging to assist us in assessing the issue.

We strongly recommend that customers do not install a product until they are satisfied with its cosmetic appearance and condition. Once a product has been installed, we may not be able to accept a claim relating solely to a cosmetic issue that was reasonably visible and could have been identified before installation.

Important: This policy does not limit or exclude your rights under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL). If a product has a manufacturing defect, is faulty, unsafe, or otherwise fails to meet the consumer guarantees, you may be entitled to a remedy under the ACL regardless of whether the product has been installed.
